Michigan Womyn's Festival

A festival to celebrate music, equality and freedom...

Taking place on a scenic plot of forested land in Michigan, WomynFest (it's short name) is in its 30th year, having gone through various incarnations along the way. It's a festival to celebrate music, equality and freedom. This event is not geared towards sexually explicit activities at all, and children are welcome to attend (they have a daycare service). We think WomynFest is in line with the beliefs of Coccozella as it encourages people to be confident with their bodies and happy to be in one's own skin.

The website is extensive and you should definitely read up before deciding to attend as there is an application process. Each attendee is expected to help out a little during their stay, and it's all outlined in the FAQ's on the site. We've never been, but it looks like a great event for the true naturist at heart and if you do attend we would love to see pictures of your week there!

With over 40 performers and almost as many workshops to choose from you might just forget that you even wanted to take your clothes off! There's no precedent set as far as we can tell for the event in regards to nudity, but topfreedom and the occasional skinny dip don't seem to be out of the question. If you're considering going you should visit the website today as it's not all that far off!
