Just for info purposes, there is a CO sauna at Omega Institute, in Rhinebeck NY, available to people attending Omega. Omega is a new age-y type place for yoga, meditation, various holistic and educational programs, etc. You can also just go there for R&R (min stay of two nights, and price will include one 1 hr. massage). It's in the woods, a former summer camp, so it's dorm style cabins in the woods for lodging (for the most part), but nice facilities and good (vegetarian) food.
I went to the sauna two nights during my stay and there was a nice and regular flow of males and females. As you would expect, people were relaxed and pretty sociable. All the men went clothesfree, and I only saw one woman who wore a bathing suit. Some people also just duck in after afternoon yoga class to use the shower facilities before going to dinner, a fact I noticed because I had the same brainstorm. Omega's only open part of the year, and I think it closes around Oct. 15. If you're into this kind of thing, it's a nice place to keep in mind.
