Sarasota is nice. It's very nice, in fact. I used to live there. It is, however, somewhat of a small town and there is a pretty big "old money" element to the area. Siesta Key is beautiful and Long Boat Key is quiant. Take a visit down there and try things out. It might be worth your time.
