We'll see. Unfortunately, this is starting to sound more complicated (and expensive) than I would have liked. Personally, I wish that NY Waterway and/or Seastreak would just expand their Sandy Hook service to include weekdays during the summer, or at least Fridays (which is when I'm thinking about going). Their website does have a comunication form - perhaps they can email back if cabs are available. If you do work this out, be sure to post your experience and the costs to get there!

I didn't know that Seastreak had a ferry that goes to Highlands on weekdays, though. Are there any cabs that hang out around the ferry stop? If so, that would be a possibility. Also, I'm looking at the Seastreak website, and the page which lists the schedule for the Highlands route (http://www.seastreak.com/SeaStreak/FaresandSchedules/Manhattandeparturesweekday.htm) seems to indicate that most of the ferries don't even stop at the SHBM/Highlands stop.
