: It's an interesting idea but I'm not sure if it is right for me. It
: depends on what it becomes, who shows up, how people behave. I like
: extemporaneous photography. Studio work bores the life out of me.
: So models posing for me is not that interesting. On the other hand
: if there are a lot of "free-style" opportunities, it could be very
: nice. I think there are equal chances of success and FUBAR, mostly
: because of the vast differences, styles and needs of the attendees.
: First, you'll probably want some assurance that the "models" will get
: naked and not just some topless/see-thru nonsense.
: The key to the whole thing is whether or not the models consciously pose for the cameras or get involved in activities and forgt about the cameras. If the former, it will be a fine posed group shoot. If the latter, it can turn out to be something special. You may even want to think about making the photographers getting naked. Personally, I'd have no problem with that, I'd just need to figure out a substitute for pockets.
Speaking as a non participant anxiously awaiting the results of such an event, I would definately concur with the above as far as aiming for "free-style" opportunities.
Activities would be a great idea. Unposed group shots (I'm thinking Ralph Vulis and girls playing soccer on the beach - that type of thing) is what I'd love to see. I hope you all make a go at this event, but also find a way to put a unique stamp on it. Either by choice of locale or activity, I would want the pics to be instantly identifiable. Rather than come away with a lot of uncoordinated individual efforts, make the whole greater than the sum of its parts. Sure, there can be a lot of individual posing and such, but those images aren't going be the ones that last in the minds of the collector. On the other hand, get 50 nude females together in one place, and think of what you could do with them that no one else has ever done. (OK, no one except Spencer Tunick, maybe).
