no, this was not a case of hacking. webhosting company had a fire like was posted by cocco, it was all over the news, etc. from the story the fire didnt get near the servers even though they went down, by the time of this post all should be fine and all back up. and with the way things work, yes what you found out is very possible, parts of any site might be there, while others are 403 as you stated in your post. as it is the way of PC's, the NET, and the world.
