Question: Is Luna Maya c/o like Cabanas Copal is? The place looks nice but not sure if its what we want. Looking for a nice place since Copal is full during our visit.
: : I'm looking into either a nude resort, or a vacation locale with nude beaches. Any recommendations that are good value, and not swingers resorts?
: : In the Caribbean or Mexico.
: I have been to two resort locations that are nude friendly. One in the area you are looking for is Tulum. It is fairly cheap to get to, with nearly everybody flying into Cancun. You can either take public transport or rent a car (which is what I do). There are several nice places that I have seen. I have stayed in Zahra's (pretty nice but basic housing) and Cabanas Copal (more rustic, potentially cheaper). A place that I plan on staying next time is the Luna Maya. All of these places are in a strip of beach about three miles from the main town of Tulum. This is touristy in that it would barely exist without tourists, but party central it decidedly is not.
: Regarding nudism there, the beaches are fine for that but don't expect tons of company. Most of the women go topless, but not that many are totally buff. Men are more commonly as God made them, but ain't it the way?
: I have also gone to Fuerteventura, which is much more adventurous (and expensive to get to from the states without a fair amount of imagination). Most beaches are pretty relaxed but when we were there (in early December) is was pretty cool and always windy, not overly friendly for nudism though many of us tried. I stayed in El Cotillo, which is on the northwest coast. The food, outstanding. Exotic, for US folks, yes. For Europeans, not so much. The north half of the island is largely Brits, and not those who attended Eton. Middle class Brits with tastes to match, lots of soccer bars and places to get get fish 'n chips. The south end of the island is largely German, but we only got down there once.
