Been there the past 2 Sundays and will hopefully be there this Wednesday with temps predicted to be close to 80 degrees and sunny.
As far as those past 2 Sundays...yesterday was much nicer then April 10th. It seems you get a few hours of a very nice warm breeze coming from off the dunes, but then between 1-2PM the wind shifts and the ocean breeze just about ends my day. When you get to your car in the parking lot the weather feels about 10 degrees warmer without that damn ocean breeze.
When I got to the beach yesterday around noon there was a very nice crowd there. Quite a few couples and some "stragglers." You get those stragglers at the beginning and end of the season. People who might just be out for a drive down the shore, or people bicycling in the park (there was also a Walk-A-Thon at Sandy Hook yesterday), etc. and who venture out to Gunnison and after some debate strip down and lay out for awhile. You see less of that later in the season when the regulars pack the lots to capacity.
