I was at Fat Katz in 2004 and they were featuring totally nude lap dances on stage, with audience participation. While I was shooting video, the ATF (Alcohol,Tobacco, and Firearms) squad came in for a routine check, and threatened to close them down if the dancers didn't put some clothes on. My friend went in 2005, and said Fat Katz stage was not offering much on stage this time around. So it may not be selective enforcement, but just if inspectors walk in at the wrong time, or if someone files a complaint. We did not find anything at Club Utopia, but wonder if it is ONLY on Thursday night, and maybe NOT during Mardi Gras?
