Club Utopia is NOT a strip club. Many of the participants in the regular Thursday night "Home Made Bikini Contest" that you see on 5-i's videos are, however, strippers from the clubs in town. It's apparently perceived to be an easy way to make a few bucks in the contest and to do a little self-promotion.
Other bars, like 711, also have contests that involve the participants getting naked so Utopia doesn't have any special deal with the NOPD. Whether or not it's the law or just selective enforcement, NOPD doesn't appear have problems with women getting naked inside non-strip clubs.
Club Utopia used to charge videographers $75 to shoot the contest but I'm not sure if they still do so.
