Main nudist beach is at Es Trenc. Near South tip of the island. Well known and well used, almost all naturist. A few km long, so plenty of room despite the numbers who go there, good sand, easy access to sea, shallow for a long way out. We found it a bit bleak and the sun was scorching the sand. But everyone else rates it high, would probably be much better if we had been there with not such intense sun. No facilities, quite a monotonous walk from a small village.
There is a beach just North of Cala Rajada. Car access by long roundabout route from the town. Beach is nude at far end. We liked this one very much. Good atmosphere. Smallish number of people. Maybe walkable from Cala Rajada along the coast, not sure, in which case you get to the nude part first. Bars etc at other end of beach. Swimming quite good, sea can be choppy.
Portas Vellas. West of Palma, near Southwest end of island. The nearest nudist to Palma, may be accessible without a car, by bus. A smallish bay, crowded, mixture of clothed and some nude. Bars and restaurants virtually on beach. We liked this one. Maybe doubtful whether still nude as this is really a main beach, but a good one if it is still as it was. Boat trips from Palma often come here so possible for nude swimming even if not a nudist boat trip. In an enclosed bay, so swimming good.
Ibiza is better than Mallorca for nudist beaches, and for beaches and atmosphere generally.
A long time since we were there, so this may be out of date now.
Nude beach about 15-25 km South of Lisbon, on the far side of the Tagus. Did not appeal to us. Could not swim because of jellyfish. Unattractive, but possible if that’s where you are.
Huge beach immediately North of Nazare (one third of the way from Lisbon to Porto). Very few people, so OK to go nude. Sandy. Sea often very rough and not safe for swimming. Quite good. Nazare is an interesting and attractive town, well worth visiting. Many quiet beaches along this stretch of coast, so could easily strip off.
The Algarve, South coast, is the main tourist area for Portugal. There are some exceptional beaches for scenery from Lagos to Cabo de San Vicente. East of Lagos it is flatter and much tourist development.
Excellent beach at Sagres, nude at far end West of town. And another one halfway to San Vicente. Both have good sand and swimming, and a good mixture of nude and non-nude users. This is beyond the package tour area, and you get a good mix of people. Rate very high.
Lagos is a rapidly expanding holiday destination, and famous for its beach and cliff scenery. There was a small cove used by nudists, I think to the West of the town, near a large campsite.
Long beach from Tavira stretching Westwards. Soon becomes quiet, we went nude as did one other couple.
For nudist beaches with good atmosphere and setting, we would recommend Cala Rajada on Mallorca, or Sagres in Portugal.
Have a good holiday. Let us know how you get on.
