My wife & I took part in the Central Terminal Installation today. I was not impressed! We arrived as a couple - to experience this together. The first thing done was to split up the men & women! The men waited outside while the women went inside & he did his thing. When the men entered, there was no chance of finding my wife among the 1800+ people present. When the 30 to 50 crowd left she was finally able to find me. We quickly decided that we were finished. We left together - the way we had hoped to enjoy the experience.
Some questions I have:
1 - why were the women photographed alone & we were not? - at the very least why not photograph them after doing the entire group?
2 - why were clothed people - not on the artists staff - & those in security uniforms - allowed inside to gawk at the procedings?
3 - why were we not told that the television stations would not only be inside the Terminal - but were filming the instatllation. I'm certain that those whose faces were shown on the 6 o'clock news were not happy - with the exception of those few who voluntarily interviewed after they were dressed.
4 - we were not the only people distressed by this - several others who spoke with us indicated that they felt the same.
All in all, we felt duped. Something beautiful involving the human body was turned into what felt like a porn-flick casting call.
