I have often been at odds with the "social" nudists that claim there is nothing sexual about public nudity. In general, that can be the case. As it pertains to women, they are hard wired to be less visual, and therefore more plausible when they say they are not sexually aroused by the naked guys.

If you ever have had the opportunity to walk down a nude beach, ANY nude beach, with a very attractive girl that is naked, and if you watched the guys faces (which always is the majority of nude beachers), you will see that 100% of them turn and gawk at her.

Open sexual activity does occur at some nude beaches, others it does not. I think it boils down to whether there are families nearby (kids), and the general expectations of those there as to whether I view it as acceptable or not.
