: I was in South Beach the week of Feb. 11-19. About a third of the women went topless during that time. However, on Thursday, Feb. 17, the weather warmed up to 82 degrees, the sun was intense, and half the women were baring their breasts and lying out in the sun. I was walking from 5th Street
: down to South Pointe (where topless sunbathing is not supposed to happen). Most of the women were models, toutrists, or college students. Considering that Miami Beach is one of the most popular destinations for Americans and Europeans, it is refreshing to see women who would be modest about shedding their clothing have no qualms about shedding their tops at a popular beach.
My wife and I go to South Beach once or twice a year. She has sunbathed topless at both the Tides and the Delano. At our most recent trip to the Delano, about 1/3 of the women at the beach were topless and about 1/10 at the pool. As evening approached, the pool became more festive and half of the women were topless.
