Saunas and swimming pools operate the year round in Germany. There are several outdoor pools that operate mostly in the warmer weather, but they are usually part of a complex that includes indoor pools as well.
In the winter I love to bake in the sauna until I glisten all over. It then is a fantastic feeling to run outside and roll in the snow or jump in a very cold outdoor pool. I just tingle all over.
A great spot in winter is Dantebad in Munich. The hottest sauna is usually about 115 Degrees C (nearly 240 degrees F). I stay in as long as I can and I feel so cooked I can hardly move. Then I go outside and dive into a a pool where the temperature is about 5-7 C (40-45´F). It is incredible to have a change of temperature of nearly 100 C or 200F in just seconds. I feel so marvelous. I bake myself several times and it is so relaxing. Of course most German saunas are nude and mixed.
Another great sauna is Erding on the north side of Munish. In the summer there is a retractable dome over the pool so it opens in warm weather. There is a great lawn for au natural tanning and about 15-20 saunas. They also have a row of eisdusches (ice-showers) which are incredible. A session under them would wake the dead. I usually win contests with my friends on who can stay and complete the most cycles through all the eis-dusches.
I strongly recommned Germany as great for first time or experienced naturists. The people are so friendly and I feel so comfortable there. Many of the saunas have great web sites with nice photos of the action in the saunas so happy browsing.
