Wreck beach you can still buy beer and fruit from coolers, and weed is still sold openly. Some do gooder cops did arrest the very hot "watermelon girl" (http://www.melongirl.com/) for selling pot laced ginger snaps and it nearly caused a nude beach riot from what i heard. Vancouver is like a different country than toronto as far as being laid back. In toronto you hide your beer in a different container and have to bring your own pot to the beach.

It was awesome to not have to lug a cooler up and down those all those stairs! Of course, if so inclined, you could also purchase other items of recreational use from the guys with the funny dreds.

: I don't know if Wreck is still that way (this was in the mid-90's), but it really had a great vibe.
