: Nudity is illegal on Mexican beaches, including topless sunbathing, though on several trips to Cancun I have not seen anyone actually ticketed or arrested. You will only find occasional topless bathers on the beaches of Cancun's main hotel strip. But about half the women are topless on the more European-visited beaches of Playa del Carmen, about 40 minutes south of Cancun. No full nudity on the beaches, but it is permitted in the "private pool" areas of clothing-optional resorts such as the Caribbean Reef Club in Puerto Morelos and Desire in Playa del Carmen. The best nightlife is in Cancun, but the best beaches are Playa del Carmen, which is only a $3.40 US bus ride away.

Is there anywhere else in the Caribbean that you could recommend for nude beaches? We are planning a trip for our 10th anniversary next spring & were interested in trying a nude beach / resort for the first time

Thanks, Brad
