It is an old gallery and i think it can only be reached by searching from the old galleries search page.

Search for Queensland. The photographer is listed as Jo Blake. I could not match the beach to any description on the web.

Hi, I can’t find the link, otherwise I’d try to help.  There are technically no “legal” nude beaches in the state of Queensland, Australia.  However according to the Australian Nudist Federation “Alexandria Bay” in Noosa Heads is overlooked by the law (perhaps due to the long 3~4 kilometre walk).  If you can find the link, please post and I’ll check back in a week.

To reach it you need to:

1. Login to your coccozella account
2. Go to this page http://www.coccozella.com/zPATRON/nud_gal_2006.htm and click GET PASSWORD.
3. Search for Queensland from the above link and Jo Blake - Queensland 2004 should come up.
4. When asked to login for this gallery, enter your regular username but use the password provided at step 2.

You should check out the older galleries. There is a lot of good stuff that still has not been moved to the new galleries.

(you’re right, they should be moved across for the interest of others…)
LTL, you’ve got me stumped a little here…
to answer your question, I am reasonably familiar with aussie beaches
as I am an aussie, and have travelled the country reasonably well
spent a number of seasons in south east queensland
however I am stumped with the location of this gallery you have shown me…
but here’s some feedback.

let’s begin from the top of the sunshine coast / fraser island / hervey bay
(queensland’s a big state… 1,730,648 square kilometres / 1,075,374 square miles)
and work back in a southern direction…

as mentioned in my last note, there are no legal nude beaches in queensland
(unless something has happened in the last month or two I don’t know about)
and the only nude beach “known” is alexandria bay, noosa heads

BUNDABERG
from bundaberg / hervey bay, I have never seen nude bathing
you find nudists along cooloola coast north from noosa to double island points
also nudists “occur” on fraser island
but it’s not a known spot
and your 2004 JO BLAKE beach certainly isn’t these

if you look at the SICKBOY gallery, this is alexdra bay, noosa heads
(and I think there are a few more A-BAY galleries in the annals of coccozella)
there are no buildings anywhere to be seen

you will not find any nudity (although a lot of toplessness) south of noosa ~ maroochydore
(as you’d imagine, it may happen, but it’s not known about, no designated beaches)
NOTE: if anyone reading this thinks I’m wrong, I’m all ears (eyes) to where they are

south of maroochydore ~ caloundra ~ brisbane is basically the same to my knowledge
there is a beautiful island called stradbroke (north and south islands)
I’ve visited there for a few surfing trips and is common to see toplessness
but similarly to alexandria bay, there’s no buildings on stradbroke like JB gallery

south of brisbane ~ surfers paradise ~ gold coast ~ coolangatta: forget about it
way too built up and too many people, and nudity is viewed different here to europe

so cutting to the chase, my guess (keeping in mind it’s south east queensland…)
also taking into account the amount of topless girls (only few nudists)
one of two things;
~ either JO BLAKE has mistaken sth east qld for north east NSW (new south wales)
to my eye it could be BYRON BAY and surroundings
~ somewhere around coolangatta / tweed heads
(a shame the photo wasn’t take the other side of the sign…)

I am going to show this around and see if anyone knows
(am assuming it’s OK to do this by coccozella’s terms of use…?)
my other suggestion is that you (similarly) gain permission to show to ANF
and ask if they know…

We may not have an answer but at least we know where this beach isn’t!

I just found it very interesting because normally non-European beaches seem to be quite far from buildings. From what I could see on the web, Byron Bay sounds possible.

Aus Nude might not be happy if I ask about the pic due to the voyeur element..

It’s rare to get many aussie beach goers on the forum, do you have much info about sydney and n south wales beaches (based on personal experience? i.e. which draw the best crowds, which have the nicest water?

coming back to it… I’m convinced it isn’t STH EAST QLD
I’m calling BYRON BAY… it’s a bit hippie, and the natural place to “strip off”

to answer your question, COBBLERS beach is the place to go
I am pretty sure there are a few galleries in coccozella about it
it’s a family friendly beach and very few gawkers
(unlike the predominantly gay beach around the corner)
NOTE: and NO, that wasn’t a homophobic comment ~ if anyone else is reading this
but the time I went there it was pretty obvious that it was a gay nude beach

to get there, you need to go to the NORTH SHORE of SYDNEY
it’s located in hunter’s bay, at the HMAS reserve
(not that far from the centre of sydney… 30 mins. off peak)

Yep looks like Byron Bay to me as well . . . although not convinced all the gallery are at the same beach.

Just found this post and seen the pics . I would be very surprised if this was Byron Bay. Definitely not Kings Beach and doesn’t look like Belongil Beach either. But i have no idea where it is just where it isnt . Sorry

It reminds me of this photo from anothe Australian beach (also unknown) http://www.imagebam.com/image/0a80ab136462223. Just seems interesting because some of the beaches shown have a few nudes here and there, and what looks like a much busier regular beach nearby.

The gallery has now been moved into the current section (rather than the archives) and is now called “Brisbane” (rather than Queensland).

Other ideas: -Stradbroke Island -Not in Qld but maybe Port Stephens? Having not been to those places I don’t know…just throwing ideas out there…kinda fun doing detective work.

I have found all of these posts very interesting, I am currently working just out side of Brisbane, and will be here for the next few weeks. ( I live in England )
I did not think that there was any topless/nude beach’s in the area.
I take it that those, where girls to go topless, would be in the summer months and not this time of year.

you may very well know me better then i do my friend, looks like i am going. i right now have four reserved for 26thru30th/four nights. weds thru that sunday. if i do get down there, and as you say, it would have to be almost the end of the world, or close to it for me not to be down there for FF/2011.

and i know what we did wrong last year with people going in front of us, it wont happen again, and anyway looks like you got some better angles then i did, ill have to work on that. lol
